Dr. Raymond Tesner, medical director of SportsMedicine Grant and Orthopaedic Associates, said he has seen too many cases of patients complaining of soreness in the shoulders, elbow and wrist from playing Wii.
"This is an overuse injury," Tesner said. "Anytime you start something new, you have the potential to develop overuse-type symptoms like tendinitis and inflammation."
Rest, along with ice and anti-inflammatories, is the best medicine for these aches and pains, Tesner said. The best way to avoid them in the first place is to use caution and a good warm-up routine.

Moral of the story: If you get a Wii, don't play it for hours at a time, and if you have to, stretch or take a break.
