This is by no means surprising or anything, but Jack Thompson has decided that the tragedy that happened at Northern Illinois University was caused by exposure to violent video games. Quote: |

As always, no evidence has been found linking Kazmierczak to video games, Counter-Strike or otherwise, but Thompson never let a lack of evidence keep him from shooting off his mouth. I imagine his ears perk up like a dog hearing its master's voice the moment a terrible tragedy like this occurs.
| This one really hit close to home for us as my brother-in-law goes to school here and was witness to the aftermath of this by only five minutes. Had he been just a few minutes earlier in his daily routine, the list of names here could have included his. He was actually helping a few bleeding people until the police arrived.
But do I think video games are the cause? GTFO, no. |

As for this Thompson guy...
This man has his head so far up his ass that Cirque de Soleil should recruit him as a featured contortionist. Killings have been happening loooong before the invention of video games. It's more a matter of the ease of accessibility to procure and operate a firearm.
Does anyone know when the worst school killing in US history occured? Well, it was long before video games. May 8, 1927 in Bath, Michigan: Andrew Kehoe killed 46 people including 38 children, 6 teachers, the school board pres. and Kehoe's wife. Thompson needs to research further before stating his opinions as truth.

Video games is a way for me and most of us to release a little after a long day, not a catalyst to going mental/postal.
My condolences go out to the family and friends. This guy is an ass, he could of at least waited a week.

Let's blame our eyes, for the gift of sight and being able to be encouraged to kill because of a video game or violent movie. Give me a fucking break.
Let's blame that fuck's wife for not giving him pussy the pass few years and causing him to be an asshole.
People's friends and families were lost because of some lunatic, and this son of a bitch jumps out with these accusations without knowing if the fucking kid even played video games.

It's sad that no matter how many people get injured or die from things like these, the only thing Jack Thompson can care about is getting in the media and blaming video games. He's just exploiting the dead and using them as an example to blame video games.
As for violence and history, history speaks for itself. For some reason I was digging around in Wikipedia the other day, and because of my ADD, within 20 minutes, I had 120 tabs open all on entirely different things. Somehow I ended up on Vlad the Impaler. This dude had well over 30,000 people literally impaled. In rather violent, painful, disgusting ways. This is just one guy. Look at all the wars we've been through. Look at the vikings and their ability to completely destroy villages, raping women, killing men and children, stealing, etc.
As far as I'm concerned. Violence is a part of man. It always has been and it always will be. It's like the family household pet that one day snaps and kills a child or neighbor. It may have been house trained from the day it was born, but its nature will always be with it.
Anyway, Jack Thompson fails.
