| Shockingly, EA was quick to join them. ROFL Quote: |

| | | as long as this drives the cost down of BOTH hardware and software...I'm somewhat okay with it...but it'll most likely be seen as OH LOOK NEW REVENUE SOURCE, YIPPEE!!!...and that's going to be awful for gamers in the long run...

| i don't mind, as long as it doesn't become crazy, like DukeNukem taking a break from killing alien bastards for a 4-minute Burger King cut scene.

| | | in many ways it's not a bad fit...racing games, urban-based shooters, sports games...advertising is natural in those environments...my main concern is A) having to watch a commercial to get to the game, or during the loading period, B) a new source of revenue doing nothing to either improve the games or bring their costs down, and C) once again the end-user being exploited...
the last point is more an issue with PC games...in-game advertising on servers that the general public pays for is a bit of an ass move, as the server operator (the person paying for the space advertised in) will never see a dime from it...

| | | oh, I don't think the advertising money will make the games less expensive, it just offsets the cost for the developers. We'll get shafted, as usual, and not in a good way.

| | | I don't really mind, its just that when I played Rainbow 6 Vegas and all the cars were Dodges, and the huge billboards for axe kinda irked me.
