Gears Of War Movie Gets Big Time Financing

The guys at Epic should be pretty happy, it appears that their hit franchise Gears of War is getting the bread necessary to bring it to the big screen... and from the same folks who funded a few other popular nerd-genre films.

Hmm could be good, I think sometimes the problem when crossing games to movies and vice-versa is the control the IP owner wants over branding if Epic lets Legendary Pictures do what they do best we might see something good finally come out of a crossover.

All they have to do is follow the game plot... and not try to make it into anything more than it is; sci-fi action. They try and get an oscar out of it and it will flop.

well holy crap. that is some of the best news i have heard all week. i just hope they dont do the presentation of the story like they did in the game, i had no idea wtf was going on throughout the game until i read the manual. it got a great story and plot, but it just wasnt presented well. reminded me of Devil May Cry 2, cept better.
