Re: What Games We Are Playing & What We Are Playing Them On

I played the first when it came out, loved the setting but found it boring and the stealth and combat annoyed me. If you enjoy stealth I'd say go for it, though the earlier ones are showing their age. I only got back into the series due to the current two, Egypt and Greece were too good to pass up, and they have become less stealth oriented. I watched a catch up video so I had more idea about what I missed and don't regret it.

Interesting. I'm... mixed on stealth only type games. If it's done well then cool, but most... struggle (either frustrating or too easy a lot of the time). I enjoy the Hitman series though where you can kinda balance it by going either way most of the time (though if you're going all out killing-bad-guy fest... it's just never ending) :P

In the meantime though - beat FFXV! Pretty fun game - not sure where I'd place it in "rank" with the others - probably liked it about the same as FFXIII? I still miss the old-school ones that have a pretty straight forward plot with very nice twists and turns over... well, overly complicated plots. The movie really helps XV out though, so I'm glad I watched it as that helped understand what's going on quite a bit. Great music, and for being from 2016 it still has some pretty fantastic visuals (not to be beaten by Horizon: Zero Dawn) - combat was somewhat engaging, but... there wasn't much need for magic (which I found a bit of a pain but can do some good damage) so I'd just stick with the normal weapons and stuff. The skill tree was decent, and did a number of grinding sessions but I didn't max it out. Ending is interesting - but like the last several FF games, the last boss really isn't a challenge (actually... to a certain extent there may have only been a few quests/fights that were really challenging in the game overall - though I just played it on the normal level). I think I was level 75 when finished. There's a lot of other stuff that I didn't touch in the game as it wasn't really necessary - and other stuff where I thought you'd be able to go back to but, nope, can't. I guess you can play over on the "+" mode but... not really inclined to do that. But anyways! Enjoyed it. VERY MUCH looking forward to the FFVII remake. And.. I hope they do FFVI (but... old school in a kinda isometric view-ish or whatnot... just done in a stellar and detailed fashion - well, can dream. kids these days would probably just see it as being crappy. ahh well).

Heh! It's rumored that the PS5 will be backwards compatible with the PS4 - is that already next year? or is it next year that they're going to show it at E3 or something like that?

E3 will be in June, and you can probably expect the PS5 in early November.
