Tokyo Game Show 2005 Photo Gallery (mini review)

Hey guys! I'm back online again and heres my first contribution to sR.

I know its kind of late posting something about TGS 05, but after moving to Japan it took a while to get internet connection, so please understand!

I moved to Chiba and Makuhari Messe (really nice place) is quite close so going there wasn't too much of a trouble.

Here are the photos I took: (its not a great camera and some are blurred)

I never went to a big event like this, so I wasn't really fully prepared to go around the booth well, but I had a really fun time.

I think what most people looked for was the next gen consoles, and you could tell that Microsoft was trying really hard to attract the Japanese users. They were doing a lot of things like giving away a cool looking bag with big Xbox 360 logos for free. The whole 360 design thing and booth was nice and when I got to play the game demo, the controller felt good too, but personally I wasn't too impressed with the actual game. But I am a Sony fan so this comment is a little biased.

What impressed me the most was the PS3 booth with the huge monitor showing both new and old trailers from E3. The MGS4 trailer made with the PS3 dev kit was really amazing, and some other trailers showed amazing in game graphics. The big disappointment was that there were no playable demos. Sony also had a pretty good PSP booth, but the PlayStation Spot where people could try the game demos on their own PSP didn't really work and that was another disappointment.

I can talk more but I think you guys already visited Gamespot or IGN so I won't go on :smash: I'll add some pics of the stuff I brought back from the game show later.

The green thing is a manga character called Sergent Keroro. I think the Anime is on Japanese TV right now.

As I promised some more photos of things I brought back for free:

What the Xbox lady is holding is the Ninety Nine Nights Pen Light (with spare batteries)

If you guys didn't realise there are photos of Hideo Kojima on the first post

Hi, just was looking for some AOE3 feedback when I saw this thread..

Final Fantasy 7 Turks? Too bad it was blurry but it looks pretty cool, PS2 game I would assume. It has those cell shading anime-type graphics which are pretty sweet

Nice - I wish I lived in Japan....
