HTML + CSS Guru/Junkie

Hey guys, I am sure there is at least one here on the boards, just looking for help making my site browser friendly.

Coded in notepad, viewed in firefox, but when viewed in $soft's IE it is totally lost...

Any help would be greatly appriciated!

It is a small page so it would not take long!

There are hacks you can use so that you can set certain css elements to only apply to certain browsers... You would need to do some research as, I havent done that in a very long time with IE...

Another option would be to code an IE Only style sheet...

EX:

Well, you open the page up in Firefox, (where I'm assuming it looks great)...

Then you open it up in Internet Explorer, and using the IE-Stylesheet, you adjust the css so that it looks the same in both browsers...

There are actually a lot of us here who are knowledgeable about this stuff.

However, we all like to do things in our own way. As long as you stick to the specifications, and can validate it and pass, then it doesn't really matter how you do it. You'll eventually learn your own way of doing it and stick to that.

As for the differences between IE and Firefox, just do trial-and-error. You'll be able to tell what doesn't align up or what doesn't look right. Use that information to Google for fixes or workarounds, or just start tweaking values yourself. You'll want to start off with a duplicate CSS of your Firefox CSS file and start modifying it from there.

Dealing with the differences between IE and the rest of the browsers can be quite a pain. Have fun.
