Help with my internetz

So after giving up on vista because I couldn't get a consistant wireless connection I have moved back to 32 bit XP but now that I have consistant and uninterrupted connection there is another problem. I am able to play games like diablo, AOC, and other games where I do not have to search for servers. However when I am trying to play CoD4, TF2, CS:S, etc I can't find any servers and the one or two that show up are super high ping and I can't connect. Help!

This happened to me when i first installed TF2. I don't know what happened, why it changed, or what someone on the TF2 computer changed, but it works now. I wish I knew, cause I know the feeling and it sucks...especially after you just bought a game or a whole new computer.
