    Review: Audio-Technica ATH-AD700 Headphone

I've owned them since February, and I think it's about time to write a review on the Audio-Technica ATH-AD700 air dynamic headphones.

    Packaging

As you can see, it comes in a box that has a plastic window when you open the front door-like layer. It's pretty cool, and I didn't have to worry about styrofoam. The language on the back of the box are foreign; Audio-technica is a Japanese company which was first established in 1962. They are a very professional organization and design top notch audio equipment.

    Specifications
    Brand: audio-technica
    Model: ATH-AD700
    Type: Headphone
    Frequency Response: 5Hz-30KHz
    Input Impedance: 32 ohm
    Sensitivity: 98dB S.P.L. at 1KHz
    Connector: 3.5mm/ 6.3mm
    Ear Coupling: Circumaural
    Cord Length: 9.8 feet
    Weight: 9.8 oz.

    *Honeycombed Aluminium Mesh Case
    ° 53mm Drivers
    Bobbin Type CCAW Voice Coil
    "3D Wing Support" (Pat. P)
Extremely High Coductive PCOCC Cable with Titanium Sheathing
Extremely Comfortable Soft Velvet Cloth Ear-Pad*

I mainly use these headphones for gaming, but I also tend to turn some tunes on from time to time. Along with my X-Fi XtremeGamer sound-card, everything sounds excellent. The bass is tight, and the voice is clear and crisp. The music experience is pretty much out of this world, and the gaming is even better. I also have the Sennheiser HD555's, and I love them to death... but the AD-700's have the edge over them. I had to play with the bass settings on my equalizer for my HD555's because it was shaking anytime a song played a loud bass, imagine an AWP shot. The 3D sound positioning is so precise that I tend to make calls for my teammates even when I'm dead, because I can hear the enemy sneaking by/defusing or planting a bomb/opening a door/reloading/farting. Seriously, if these are this good, I will consider getting the AD900's, which have even better sound quality.
    Pros
No Microphone (that's why I have my Zalman mic attachment ftw)
Beautiful Sound for gaming and music/movies
    Extremely Comfortable
    Pretty much indestructable
    Great look and design
    No crackling or popping
    Price (only $109 @ Newegg)

    Cons
The fact that I don't pub anymore because my soundhacks make dumb admins think they're actually wallhacks.
Sound leakage (this is not really a Con since it's expected because of the type of headphones they are)

Overall, I love them! I recommend these to anyone who's willing to upgrade or try out a new pair of headphones. They are excellent for all of your audiophile needs. Hope you enjoyed the short but straight to the point review.

I rate them 5 out of 5 D keys. I simply love them, and don't dislike anything about them.

I don't know where the fuck you guys get those D keys.. so fuck it. I don't have photoshop installed since I just formatted today.

    Hehe, thanks guys.

The AD-900's are supposedly even better in quality, so those are probably my next pair of cans. They cost 250+ everywhere I've looked though, so I'll probably wait until they go down in price before I decide to upgrade.

The AD-700's are excellent though, and extremely affordable and worth the price. 3D sound positioning is so precise that you'll forget you're playing a video game.

    Thanks for reading guys

BTW, here are what the AD-900's look like.

Yep. When and if I get them, they will probably be for a different build, and I'll have a different soundcard to test them out with

Wait so those native to 3.5 mm and use adapter for 1/8th inch.

I thought they were "music" headphones?
