I think it may have been this one ... but not too sure: Denon USA | AVR-2310CI

Its under 1K. Denon, Marantz, Onkyo/Integra (I'm using an Integra Pre/Pro myself now) are who I would stick too.. though you need to get a receiver that has the features you want. A lot of them have some great networking features .. features like Pandora, Rhapsody, etc. I think some of the new ones may even have Netflix built in. The HT Guys had a great podcast last month on receivers under different budgets. It can be found here

I have a Denon 1906 that lives in the garage. it takes on some nasty heat in the summer and keeps on ticking. So I can say they are durable at least I cant really give an objective view since I replaced my sony with this one but went from box/sub to sat/sub and imho the box/sub was a better setup. Mrs. Dog however likes the small sats in her living room much better.

Can't go wrong with Denon, but don't discount other brands so easily.

    9.2??? How's that work? LF, RF, L-middle, R-middle, LR, RR, L-center, R-center, Rear-center, and a front and rear sub?
