Windows Vista problems..need help

Alright this might seem like an odd question, but Ive recently purchased a program and upon installing and trying to get it work and several system crashes later, I learned that when it said Compatible for Windows Vista it only meant 32-bit vista......but I have 64-bit vista .....

now what im asking is.... is there some way to some how switch my computer to run 32-bit or is there some sort of program/patch out there that allows me to run 32-bit programs without my computer freezing up telling me to fuck off and then crashing when I try and load this program.

List your system specs. That will tell us a lot more of what your exact issues is. I am afraid that it might have to do with one or several of your PC parts.

Info we need:

CPU
Memory
Motherboard (If you got it for Dell or HP or something like that there should be a number on the MB. Just list that, and if you can't find it no worries.)
GFX Card

That should cover the basics.

Also how did you install WinVistax64? If everything checks out you may just need to do a fresh install to see if that fixes the issue.

Any 64bit OS can run 32 bit applications, as Iron said it may have to do with your machine itself. What program are you trying to run?

Let me start by offering my condolences for running Vista. You may do yourself well to look into hopping on up to Windows 7 post-haste. I highly recommend it

While Beefy is right and your 64-bit OS should be able to run any 32-bit software, there are a few tweaks you can try to coax it along.

First, right click the application (shortcut or otherwise):

Then select Properties.

Then, you can try to run it in a compatibility mode with a previous version of Windows. Click on the compatibility tab and select the check box for 'Run in compatibility mode for:' and then click the drop-down box for a list of choices as far as which OS you want to apply. Start with XP SP2 and work your way up. You may not see the same options as I am running Windows 7 Pro here.

Then, you may also try running it as the Administrator. This has fixed quite a few functionality things with Vent and CoH in the past for me.

When you're all set, just hit apply and see if it works.

To help us further can you tell us the app and the actual error you are getting? That, along with the other info requested will assisit in hunting down the issue here.
