What is the record for biggest LAN?

Just got back from a LAN party in Idaho with about 100 people all on the same LAN. Does anyone know what the largest LAN party has been?

They just did an attempt at a folk-super-computer in San Francisco. They were looking to get 1000 computers hooked up to work as a cluster. They only got 700+. They were looking for 500 gigaflops. http://arstechnica.com/news/posts/1081180931.html

They managed to get 180 gigaflops. But the experiment was considered a success in the proved it the potential of the method.

If they got that "Gathering" hooked up on that system, I am sure they'd make the top 500 super-computer list.

I'd like to hear more about this Pennsylvania lan. Now thats a road trip I'd be willing to make. Stop and see my brother in Virginia and my relatives in Penn. That would be nice.

I would be there from NY. Sounds like a logistical nightmare and chaos. Sounds like fun.
