The Lord of the Rings Online - Rise of Isengard

    www.lotro.com

The next expansion to LOTRO, Rise of Isengard, released today. Lots of big changes and additional content. Three new zones and the level cap has been raised to 75 along with many more changes than I can possibly mention.

If you play and haven't been keeping up, there are several Developer Diaries that highlight the major changes and the official patch notes. If you don't play, the game is Free to Play if you want to give it a try. Right now there is such a high volume of players trying to patch and connect that it might take some time just to get connected to the patch servers.

I played the Beta like crazy - know one guy that plays it a LOT (got the "play for life" subscription back when you could do that) - he got me rather interested again in the game (I liked it more than WoW actually). but... i need more time :P I did find it really interesting that you can join an instance any-time, anywhere making it so that you can actually be a casual player. that's pretty cool.

Lol... yeah the Shire quests were really boring unless you had a thing for delivering mail and pies. They recently revamped all the starter zones so that there is less running around (although the delivery quests are still present).

I've been playing on the Arkenstone server since beta and I know of a couple of people from StrafeRight that were actively playing last I knew.

I have tried to get into it (lvl 61 Guardian), but the idea of grinding 14 more levels isn't really enticing to me.

I have had the toon since a couple month's after launch (lvl 29 when I originally left, that would be in 2007). I came back to the game this year and played to my current level. Make sense now?
