    The Secret World by Funcom

Over the weekend I read an interesting review of this game.

The Secret World is a modern-day massively multiplayer game of myths, legends and conspiracies, where you can become anything you want to be through a powerful progression system free of confinements such as classes and levels. Join the Illuminati, the Dragon or the Templars and join the battle for the power to rule the world.

Dark Days Are Here. Everything Is True.
Sounds like it could be fun, for someone who has the time for it.

Saw an email from EA about that game, always suspicious about marketing emails but the review you linked looks good, just need to get one of those long summer holidays that used to happen when I was young.

Yeah I know what you mean these days if I get a long weekend, I'm doing handyman chores or yardwork. No time for an MMO, although during the winter I will delve into an RPG.

Yup, long gone are the days of countless hours playing Everquest.

which is too bad - guy made "The Longest Journey" - which is, in my mind, the last great adventure game of it's type. That in itself makes me curious about "The Secret World."

This does seem prtty cool, it takes a lot for me to get interested in an MMO, this seems like the right idea

OK, went out on a limb and bought it. First impressions are good. Runs smoothly it doesn't have a lot of eye-candy but what is there looks good. The progression system is different but still based on an xp system. Haven't progressed far yet but so far so good. If I get 30 days out of any game anymore Im happy. Apperently as you progress through the various stages of the game the quests/tasks get fairly difficult and require research with which the game has an in-game web browser available.
