Gunz Up Tutorial

by CygnusOmega on 07-12-2012 at 11:26 AM
Today I bring you a tutorial that I despise but many of the students at BlackSun seem to really enjoy. So yeah, this is a tutorial from one of our old members that covers a beginners first exposure to the use of Vectorized effects and how to merge them with standard, more raster-based, effects.

Nature's Finest Tutorial

by CygnusOmega on 06-27-2012 at 04:03 PM
Today I bring you a beginner level landscape only tutorial that should help out with all of the confusion that adjustment layers can cause. Also covers some basic lighting control in there. So yeah, enjoy.

Oh, also, my apologies for the lack of content recently. My social life kind of exploded with a bunch of birthdays, family commitments, and a friend's bachelor party/his wedding.

"Grungy" Tutorial

by CygnusOmega on 06-15-2012 at 11:25 AM
Today I bring you another tutorial that is classified under the beginner banner. This one is from another member of BlackSunGFX, Jugg~AV.

This tutorial uses various stock images and stitches them together to create the background, along with a few vector effects along the way. The whole piece is then muted under a sepia-like filter and given a touch of color through the lighting.

Here is a beginner level tutorial from that I thought you all might appreciate.

This tutorial works on a few basic principles that are essential to art creation. Namely depth, lighting, and composition.
Credit for this tutorial goes to BlackSun member Forsaken.

Conversion to digital painting (x-post from Abduzeedo)

by CygnusOmega on 06-11-2012 at 08:16 PM
This tut shows you how to achieve the same style that digital painting achieves but without the need to actually have that skill. It's pretty interesting I think, enjoy.

Also, my apologies for the lack of content recently, I went on an impromptu camping trip for a friend's birthday.
