List of HD-DVD Releases

Now that the HD-DVD drive is out, I figured this might be a good reference for the 360 owners here on SR.

When it comes to this list, when a title says "COMBO" it means that the standard dvd comes packed with the HD DVD, whether that be on the same disc but a different layer or side, I am not to sure of, and varies from title to title.

Even though I wont be picking up my drive until tomorrow, I couldnt pass up on picking up Last Samurai at CompUSA for $20. But im a little saddened by not seeing "Amazing on HD" next to its name in your post.

I have the sd version of it, and I cant wait to play the two side by side.

Im not too sure which one Ill be buying for my "collection" (2 so far ) But the Mission Impossible trilogy is looking very tempting. I also already gave my girlfriend some really heavy hints sthat if she wants to make me happy this christmas, some good HD DVDs would be good.

Duke/Endy

A lot of people are raving about MI: III and V for Vendetta HD-DVD. And Aeon Flux is supposed to look/sound exceptional as well.

I just wish I owned a player myself ....

I need to find a movie rental place near me that carries HD DVDs.

Damn the man. I'm not sure if I should upgrade to HD yet. I'm tempted to get the HD-DVD player for my 360 since I got it back. The problem is I have a plasma that is max 720p (not 1080p). I am not sure if the difference would be that good in picture between the standard dvd running at what, 480p and the HD-DVD running at 720p.

Part of me wants to ... it'd love to see what Pitch Black and Riddick look like in HD, but I'm just not sure it would be that much of an improvement.

Any of you have 720p tv's that have upgraded to HD-DVD and can comment on how drastic the change was between the two?

I'm thinking about picking up the 360's HD-DVD player this weekend from Walmart. If I find it's not that great to upgrade yet, I could always return it, and then I'd just be out the 20$ I had to spend on the HD-DVD movie to test it.
