Blizzard Taking It To Gold Sellers and Buyers

as far as blizzard being scared to cut off paying subscribers, the kind of player who buys gold obviously cares enough about the game to waste EVEN more money on it than the subscription so they will not leave the game if they are banned, if anything blizzard will make themselves more money cuz all the gold buyers will be buying new accounts.

It screws up the economy for people who try to sell items and make money in-game in legit ways. It jacks up the prices of items and causes goldfarmers to go out and hog every last thing they can find, which makes it difficult for players to mine or do collect stuff.

I personally don't have a problem if some idiot wants to pay $10 for some gold or whatever, but it becomes a problem when it screws up the auction houses and economies.

As far as Blizzard being afraid to ban these players, they've already shown that they aren't. Blizzard bans tens of thousands of players at a time for any number of offences (hacking, gold-buying, powerleveling, the works).

Maybe it's true that many of those people will buy new accounts, but it's also true that many will not. Some poeple buy gold simply because they don't feel like spending that much time on the game. These are the idiots who won't be bothered to return so it's not a fruitless effort on Blizzard's part.

As far as the ads here on sR go, that's just irony you can't make up.
