| | | Blizzard Taking It To Gold Sellers and Buyers From the sound of the article below, if you've ever bought gold for World of Warcraft from IGE, you may be in for some trouble.
From the Slashdot firehose: "It appears Blizzard may finally be taking a fatal shot at IGE, providers of WoW Gold & Powerleveling.
The State of Florida has issued a subponea demanding pretty much everything IGE has on their own operations, as well as account/player names for everyone they've ever sold gold or services to.
Read the subponea here [1.0MB PDF], and the full article here."

| | | Yep, but the interesting thing is that they might target the people who buy the gold as well. According to lots of stuff online and common sense, a lot of people buy gold but don't admit it. So there might be a lot of people that get some kind of punishment out of it. Whether it's a warning, temporary suspension or even ban, something might come of it.

| | | Well. I think the thing they're going after is enforcing the ToS. That's why I'm thinking they won't ban the people that bought some, but they may hand out warnings or temporary suspensions of the account.
By not enforcing their ToS, they are allowing room for lots of abuse. Certain people can then violate it and say "well you didn't do anything to these people who violated it."
It will be interesting to see. I don't think anything is going to happen any time soon since the process of gathering all the information and researching it will take plenty of time.

| More importantly, how dare anyone other than Blizzard suck the souls and lives out of their addicts! They own those WoW'ers souls fair and square!

| | | Yeah I recall when we tried to do this with Sony. In the end they scare the consumers with thoughts of being banned or your account terminated. It will never happen. They will not give up the 10s of thousands of accounts.

| With the millions of accounts, i am willing to bet if Blizzard was to cancel the ones that have cheated they would lose around 2 million every month. Do you think you would, as a CEO of Blizzard take that hit in the interest of fair gaming?
Heres the answer: Fuck..No..
