(Bought) Watched three forign films over the weekend.
"Born to Fight" - from Thailand -->
Was a pretty awesome (relentless) action movie. The stunts in these movies make most US stunts look like crap...after the movie is shows a bunch of the stunt people looking pretty hurt (read: should be dead!). I guess I would be too if i was thrown off a moving semi into a truck or if I got hit by a truck while driving a motorcycle full speed. Made by the same director and fight choreographer of Ong-Bak. Here's the trailer as well as two other clips. (btw - i've never seen a one-legged guy kick so much ass!)
"Banlieue 13" (or "B-13) - from France -->
Also a pretty awesome action movie - the two main characters kicked some serious ass. The subtitles were hilarious though, as they look like they were written by some french gang-member ("Wherez my gat?" - lol). Had a fairly good plot with a big twist too. This one was also produced by the same people as Ong-Bak and The Transporter 2. Here's the cool trailer.
"Crying Freeman" - from Japan (though actually.. Canada and France...lol) -->
I've seen some of the series (I have the entire series sitting in my room, but only watched a little bit of it) and it looked interesting. This movie was really cool - I was very impressed (my hopes were really really low for this film). Mark Dacascos, Rae Dawn Chong, Mako and Tchéky Karyo are in this - I was supprised to see all these actors in this film. I could only find a really crappy trailer unfortunatly :P
It was directed by Christophe Gans who also directed "Brotherhood of the Wolf." I hear that the movie doesn't follow the manga/anime very well - but I liked it none-the-less!
But yeah - those where the movies I just watched... all of them were good, so i'm happy i didn't waste my 24 bucks

the benchwarmers: HILARIOUS, happy-madison productions is doing great now that adam sandler isnt staring anymore. This and grandmas boy (another H-M Prod) are two of the funniest films to come out this year. Rob Schneider is actually really funny for once.
