Saw Aquaman. Boring plot, generic characters (especially the bad guy), and generic tropes. However, you can tell they spent a bunch of money on this thing. Pablum - they expect you to be so wowed by the CGI that you don't notice anything else. Long gone are the days when I was satisfied by special effects alone. There are worse ways to spend 2 hours, and I'm glad I saw it, but it was a vapid thing and I don't need to see it again. One word summary: silly

Had a bunch of "discounts" available from Amazon so we watched it as well over the weekend (at a nice discount). It was enjoyable to watch. I have NO idea how it could make over $1billion dollars though. It's better (I...think? from what I remember?) than the Justice League - but... it still suffers from what probably could have been several very good movies and squashed into one massive movie with everything and the kitchen sink in it. Or a few sinks. and kinda sad thing is that it was STILL predictable even with all the chaos. lol. Some stuff was pretty laughably bad, or stuff was rather fun to watch. it was okay overall and yeah, probably never watch it again.

AND since we had free tickets - we also saw Captain Marvel - not at all what I expected for the movie and it was pretty enjoyable - has a connection to End Game sure, but for the fact that the movie is more of a Spoiler:origins story that takes place in the 80ies-90ies. not sure if it's a spoiler, but had no clue about that - actually helped out quite a bit and made more sense with where the movie fits into the whole new marvel cinematic "universe."

Also started to watch "Dune" - though had to stop about half-way though as sleep was needed before work so we'll finish that soon heh. but. man. I'll have more of an opinion when I finish it (only seen parts and never the whole thing) and thankfully it's free on Prime right now

Ha yeah, the 1984 or 85 Dune. I thought it was about a decade older than that. Didn't get to finish it yet lol

Wildly different from the book, but it had some good schtuff in it. Patrick Stewart was great as Gurney Hallack(sp?).
