I'm no expert, but for it to default to new settings on that kind of level, wouldn't there have to be a boot file or a bios change for it to change everytime?

these days that can be typically controlled through software.

1) you want the vCore to be hard set all the time. (not really possible, since this is how powersaving/speedstepping is accomplished)
2) you want it lowered some times. can be accomplished through software. if said software is robust, it can be applied at boot, but only after windows has initialized. this will need to be saved to a profile, similar to video card overclock settings

Yep, NHC is a great app. I love being able to control my CPU, battery, and Hard Drive all in one place.

I even did the pinmod a while back and was still able to undervolt considerably to a very stable setting.

We watched the HD-DVD version at Burt's LAN on his 37(?)" LCDTV, it was AMAZING.
