evening peeps.
so get home this afternoon and fired up some source and low and behold the game froze with a looping sound. power down the computer and on the next reboot, the boot screen, windows loading screen and my desktop were , how do i explain it , overlaid with one another. Swap my dvi cable from the top card to the bottom same thing. boot windows in safe mode ,same thing. called my good friend in south carolina
and he let me know that one of the cards probably took a dump and to boot with only one card in the tower, and low and behold ,wahlaa, my puter boots fine. swap that card out with the other and the problems are back. needless to say i will be out my sli for awhile.
Heres where i may have burned myself, bought the two xfx 7900 gtx's from newegg june 06'. Remember reading that they have a lifetime warranty, i proceeded to go to their website and start the warranty process only to find out that for the warranty to be in effect the cards needed to be registered 30 days from purchase which i never did.
Will call them tomorrow and hopefully talk to somebody that will work with me on this.
