I came up with another idea.. can you tighten/squeeze 1/2 inch mobo screws with brass stand offs and rubber washers directly onto the mobo with rubber washers just touching the mobo on each side, bottom and top?

I'm gunna be grinding off the thread on these stand-offs so there the same height as if they were in the tray itself, that was the problem I was facing before something was higher then the real stand offs. But like I said before this is my first computer build.. and having a weird heatsink like I bought.. I wanna save the 30 bucks and over come it!

luckily I had 4 extra stand offs.

Buy the Best at the Cheapest Prices at TigerDirect.com

I noticed this mobo only supports 800Mhz DDR2 PC6400 mem sticks.. I think I bought the wrong kind.. dam I let that slip by me. =(

Would that make your computer shut itself down at bios start?

Yea, the paste is on now but it seems to make it run longer, but still shuts itself off, maybe the heatsink sucks or still isn't on tight enough?, I couldn't find the speaker for the mobo, the case came with a wire labeled speaker, but I have no idea were to hook it into.

Atm, I think my video card got damaged somewhere in the about 10 trys to get this thing to boot up correctly..

Do I have to put power from the PSU into the aux power for this video card? The book didn't say anything about it =/

I'm thinking about bringing it to best buy and see what they can do, or help me out, I'll buy new memory, and a new video card, heatsink, and maybe a better cpu..
