Im building a computer and need some help..

This the wishlist I used for what I bought, I made the wishlist a week ago.

Basically right now I can't use the heatsink, and for some reason can only boot up to bios and get onscreen with 1 memory stick in the 0 slot. The computer will start up, with all fans running then shut off randomly within about 30sec's. Is this because of the temperature of the CPU w/o a heatsink?

Also I read online it says it supports P4, and PD 3.0's. I have a PD 3.0 in it atm. But in the manual book for the mobo it doesn't list P4, or PD's.. hmm

Any Idea's?

P.S. the power supply is 600W Is that enough?..

you won't run it without a heatsink/fan on the cpu. period.

it'll heat up so fast that it'll shut it down. don't boot up again without a heatsink/fan.

i like it...but that graphics card is going to bottleneck big time on that CPU. You might want to consider a better CPU or save some money on a lesser GPU

The brackets it came with don't match the holes in the removable tray, and they sit to high under the mobo. Or.. I was to scared to try and screw directly into the mobo, theres 4 holes, but the brackets were not matched up for them. I drilled holes by eye in the tray, but they didn't come out so good, so I just abandoned it.

It didn't come with any plastic stap thingys so I think im out of luck for right now?~

Ok, so you think I need to buy a better CPU, and another matching heatsink?

get a core duo...the stock heatsink and fan are totally awesome

if you can, bump up to the core 2 duo, that mobo will support it. Your pentium D has power, but the core 2 is nicer.

when you buy the processor, get the retail version that comes with the heatsink/fan, just use that one. you can buy an aftermarket cooler later.

using the retail fan/sink? yes.

i'm not sure what the deal is with the heatsink you bought, but the retail ones will just plug into the mobo holes.
