Anyone from New England have Comcast?

Just wondering.. I'm paying $130/month atm for cable modem/internet, getting about 6mb's down, and 360kb upload. Internet cost me about $43/month. For my Digital extended cable w/ on demand I'm payin about $77/month. Recently got a HDTV as some of you prolly know.. a Sammy 2653HX, I was going to go up to my local office and get HDTV service and pick up a HDTV box, which says for the service alone it gos for about $15 by itself. Was wondering what other people pay atm for alike packages and or monthly bill. Not sure what rent on the box is.. But I've heard stories they charge $9 a month for a remote? lol

this is what you do to get your cost down.

Call up Comcast and threaten to leave them for another provider that because you believe you are not getting what your paying for. That Comcast rep will do anything to keep you as a customer, its what they're paid to do. I know people and myself personally who have gotten the digi cable, internet, and phone for $100 a month and have gotten HBO and those other movie channels free for a year. Trust me, it works.

I did that before.. and was paying 80-90 for what I have exactly now, but the 6month period ended.. so Now its back up to 130ish heh.

comcast blows nuts. better then RCN, but they still are terrible. In my apartment, i believe we have the same cable as you, we cannot play on xbox live and have more than two people browsing the web or else the xbox will lag to shit.
forget downloading anything..
i dunno, it was fin for the first three-four months when we moved in, but it just started shitting the bed after that.
I am wondering if it has to do with the p2p crackdown that comcast illegally did?

I haven't really had any problems with them so far.. just maybe a rare cable outage which we had recently, like 3 weeks ago.. was out for like 18 hours. Despite there higher prices though. =/

But I got internet, and cable through them.. so I guess paying 130 in one bill kinda makes up for it... At least I don't have like 5 Credit cards maxed out.. 1 is a 5k credit line too.. which of coarse my dad has all these.. and I've been helping him for a few months to pay them on time. Shit.. If we had little more money in reserve.. maybe 50k or so.. we'd prolly go look for a rent to own house or w/e. His credit should be pretty stable.. lol. He rarely misses 1 payment maybe every month or so.. but the other stuff makes his credit rebound from it anyway.. lol.

The gov should start investigating some of these monopoly companys like Comcast.. I mean theres other options I could go with.. but right now.. It would prolly be more work for me then all of them.. Comcast is showing that they might be falling behind in the good quality hardware depot too. They Claim like 230+ HD channels atm I believe. The nickel and dimeing though really puts a hole in the middle class Americans wallet heh. Is reg gas up to 4$ yet?~
