: 78 th | | | The 2008 Summer Olympics I thought we'd probably want a thread for this year's games in Beijing, China. There's always a few really good stories during the Olympics so I'm sure we're going to need a place to rap about them.
I'm looking forward to the US basketball team (hopefully!) bringing the gold back to the States where it belongs. Coach K feels this team is as good as any and that the guys on it know they have a big job ahead of them to return the US to the top ranks of global B-ball.
I almost think it was a good thing the US lost last time around. That kind of motivation cannot be bought, and I hope the players understand how important it is that the sports we invented are the ones we reign in on a global stage.
What else is everyone looking forward to seeing? |

: 70 th | | Field Hockey! Its like ice hockey + soccer.
jk. Anyways I usually watch all alot of sports that I usually don't watch. Although I don't think USA's roster is set up to win an international tourney... although they would win the NBA title every year.

| | | This'll be the first Summer olympics after getting HD, so I'll take a look here & there, but I probably won't watch a lot. And not to jinx it or anything, but I hope this won't be a repeat of the Munich games. There's a lot of pissed off Chinese people this time.. protesters following the torch around the world? WTF was that about. Silly Games of Summer Olympics Past & Present:
Badminton
Tug of War
Roque
Croquet
And of course... Synchronized Swimming.
