Blood Bowl is based on the
1987 table top board game (kind of like Warhammer) which was popular in the UK. Not sure if many of you remember the classic Sega games Mutant League Football or Hockey, but this reminds me a lot of them.
Anyway, Shacknews has a handful of pictures for your enjoyment.

Cyanide Studios has released full batch of screenshots drawn from its brutal, full-contact strategic take on football, Blood Bowl.
The game is based on the Games Workshop miniatures board game of the same name, originally released in 1987 and currently roughly in its fifth edition. Blood Bowl is set in Games Workshop's wildly successful Warhammer universe, a setting that is no stranger to video games. Cyanide's upcoming effort features two modes of play, one in real time and the other a faithful reproduction of the turn-based source game.
