Rock Band Confirmed for Wii

For those who'd rather rock out with their Wii-mote out. Rock Band has been announced for the Nintendo Wii.

Electonic Arts has confirmed a Wii version of Harmonix's multi-intrument music game Rock Band, which graced PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 last year. EA CEO John Riccitiello made a passing mention of the Wii edition during a conference call today. He also revealed that Europe will receive the PS2, PS3, and X360 versions of the game in the first quarter of the comany's coming fiscal year--a period that spans April 1 to June 30, 2008.
"What's probably the most interesting pieces right now is the coming launch on the Wii, the continued sale of the core platforms in North America and then the fiscal 09 launch across Europe," Riccitiello said of the Rock Band franchise, which EA distributes.

I wonder if it will be any different from the other ports of the game...for instance, i wonder if it will take advantage of the Wii controller at all
