| Agreed, Craig. Not only RPG, but also persistent characters that we enjoy in games today can be traced back to D&D.
I heard a report about him today on NPR news and an interview with a longtime friend. Gygax would have lots of fans visit his home and unless he was not feeling well (he had a number of health problems) he would always play a game with them and feed them. Whether it was D&D, Monopoly, or checkers, he loved playing games almost as much as he loved people.
Truly a man of his fans. Rest peacefully, Mr. Gygax. |
