GamesRadar Finishes GTA IV And Talks About It

Check out this story over on GamesRadar where one of their folks spills the beans about his preview of the full Grand Theft Auto IV game.

Quote:
You're the first games writer to have finished GTA IV, how does that feel?

Pretty darn sweet to be honest, I allowed myself a quick smug grin when the Rockstar guys told me! It's funny; I didn't actually really get to play as much as – say – the Benelux journos we met while up in Chelsea (we were based in Rockstar's actual offices and I think I racked up 25 hours at the final count, while they were ensconced in their hotel rooms playing up to 11 hours a day!) and I also had to write down some fairly comprehensive tips for the first batch of missions so actually I got off to a slow start.

On day two though, I flew through a major batch of the story missions without messing up once and then on the final day a Rockstar PR sidled up to me pretty late on while I was swearing my head off at getting stuck during a mission called 'A D*** B*** S**** C***' (edited to avoid spoiler) and said "Keep pushing on, you're actually nearly there. The missions are meant to be tough near the end!". It's true; the final couple of missions are rock, but after a couple of retries I finally made the breakthrough. And boy did I feel relieved; to have missed out that late on after all that, ahem... 'hard work' would have been hard to take.
i have to admit, this game really makes me want a PS3...like really. Anyway, read this short article if you're at all interested in the game, there's a lot of cool stuff being said.

So who here thinks they'll be among the first to finish this game? Anyone planning on flying through the main story but going back and doing the side missions after they find out what happens in the center plot?

unfortuately, I'll never buy a PS3 now that they've scrapped the backwards compatibility.

Which is why I bought mine early lol
I don't think I'll rush through the missions, though. Sure, you get to be on Rockstar's stat-keeping website, but I like to enjoy my GTA experiences.

more than anything, I'd like a ps3 for the blu-ray. Then comes the games.

that's just it. VERY good point. I'm so nerdy, and so at home with PC gaming, I'd buy a ps3 for the blu-ray or modding possibility alone. lots of processing power in the ps3 for the price.

That IS nerdy, but I'm with Craig.

PS3 for the high def media capabilities first, the games second.

The first game I bought after I purchased my ps3 was bully... I like to say I made an investment with my PS3 instead os a purchase though. I bought it for MGS and Gran turismo lol
Plus I'm used to the controls, and I remember all the codes for GTA3, Vice city and San Andreas lol

the only thing keeping me from buying one is that I don't have a 1080p capable tv. And I love my Wii so much that I refuse to get rid of my 480i tv that sits in our living room. That is the perfect resolution for the Wii.
