I'm speaking of Nintendo's failure to grasp one of the most dynamic components of modern gaming: online capability.

Now, to say "Nintendo doesn't do online well" is a very broad generalization. Online gaming is complex and multifaceted. There are many different ways of using the Internet for gaming and while Nintendo has capitalized on some of the basic ideas, other areas that have cried out for implementation have fallen by the wayside.

Hope they get this one right, it would multiple the potential greatly.

Yeah Nintendo is repeating a phase in their history that they don't want to repeat. That being the infamous censorship of the original Mortal Combat (as well as Wolfenstien 3D). They are doing essentially the same thing by limiting user interaction and making it difficult to even play with your friends (sorta like how Sony did on the PS2 but 5 times worse) just because they want to keep "family friendly" online play.

It's funny the people I know that are really into the wii don't care if it does online play. So based on my unscientific data I don't think it's hurting them much.

I agree with you dog, infact more people come over because I got a wii (drinking and gaming is fun when EVERYONE can do it).

the only problem i have is, when my friends leave town, and I can't play with them anymore. most of them have got wii's where they are. so, I would love some onlne play, but for the most part it isnt really needed with the games on this system
