I've only just now gotten beyond the novelty factor of Liberty City enough to honestly consider the game itself, and I have reluctantly come to this conclusion:
It is shit. It's repetitive, poorly implemented, riddled with design flaws, awkward, and above all, glitchy. Yet I understand every word of gushing praise. Everything the reviewers say about the city and its scale is absolutely true.

| | | I agree with everything said. I consistantly find myself playing COD4 and AOE3 instead of GTA IV. And I do miss some of the massiveness of San Andreas. Like I want to earn my max bike skill again.

: 34 th | | | Sucks seems a bit harsh, but a few check points here and there would be a welcome sight. The game shouldn't be 100 hours long because I have to play every mission 3 times.

| | | One mission, one try. If I do not beat a mission on the first try the game must be started over from the beginning. I take my GTA seriously and haven't had to do this since GTA3. It happened once and will never happen again. Almost happened in that mission where you take out the managers.

| | | My biggest frustration was definitely the long missions without checkpoints. For example the race. How many times do I have to get the stupid car again across town. Just teleport me back to the start line and be done with it.

| | | Consider the previous game had a larger gameplay area, more missions, more characters, more vehicles, more special vehicles (not cars), etc, etc. The new game has EYE CANDY locations people can relate to and that's it.

: 9 th | | | Haven't played GTA in over a month. Its a decent game but in no way did it ever deserve a 10. Prolly take it back for trade in soon, and I dont think I've even reached the 50% mark.
