This is has been a long time coming for PS3 owners. PS3Fanboy reports newest 2.30 firmware update will bring a new look to the PS Store. Quote:
The major update for this release is the redesigned PLAYSTATION Store, and boy does it look good. We fell in love the moment we clicked X and heard that new chime that signals the launch of the Store.
You'll find broken image placeholders in many places, as things still seem to be in the middle of construction. Some complained that the O button shouldn't close the Store -- it doesn't anymore. Now, it simply takes you back one page. And yes, the new Store is much, much faster.
There's a few new additions already available on the Store, such as a new Super Stardust HD update and the Lair patch.

In this new firmware update, the PS3 can now decode DTS-HD Master Audio, which other than Dolby TrueHD is the other "big" format that you will be seeing on a lot of your Blu-ray rentals/purchases.
*(If you don't have a HDMI AVR that can accept 6 or 8 channel PCM then you're still screwed).

: 78 th | | | this is good news, and duke is right that its cool of Sony to not charge for access to this aspect of their console. something tells me that one day MS will open up certain areas of theirs to everyone. probably start with the video stores and whatnot. we'll most likely have to pay for our Gears of War stats forever :-/ |  | |
