HTC has announced the Touch Diamond phone - and after a year of iPhone ripoffs, wannabes, and also-rans, it looks like Windows Mobile finally has a decent contender (although, I would guess, at a much higher price than the iPhone).
Though light on internal storage at 4gb, it does boast a 3.2mp camera, integrated GPS, high speed internet browsing, and a killer 640x480 2.8" screen. Plus a 3D-graphic processor, something most of the previous iPhone competitors lacked.
With a single zune-like button and a few touch-sensitive buttons, plus the touchscreen, you can choose how to use it. It also has some sort of gyro control like the iPhone, to orient the screen however you're holding it.
This has to be a $500+ phone, and if so, won't dent the iPhone popularity, especially if the iPhone drops to $199 with subsidies from AT&T. But at least there's finally something out there that competes with it. Kind of. Maybe.
