Mozilla FireFox 3 Release Imminent

Well, I've always been a user of IE. I know that makes a large part of our population here feel . Well, bite me.

Anyway, I haven't read anything about FF3. However, things happen in 3s, and also it's a known fact that 3rd time is the charm. I wonder, is there anyone who still uses IE daily, like me, who is also considering going with FF3 once it comes out? They've had time to really make something nice, now, and I think it's probably at the point where it's worth dropping IE.

Having said that, I haven't had a problem with IE7 at all. I've never gotten phished or buffer exploited with it. But it's kind of sluggish, especially in javascript web email clients like AOL and Gmail. FF3 is touted to be the fastest FF ever, and that's a very good point in my eyes.

Anyone else considering finally making the move, or trying it?

I use FF for all my regular browsing, but IE7/8 for all my development testing. I like both.

FF3 is supposed to be very fast, so I'm looking forward to it.

I don't understand why the jscript engine is so slow in IE7. How could it be as bad as it is? Too many hack safeguards against a buggy engine?

how is it, Y2?

Microsoft made it.

I like it more than FF2. Only things I don't like about it is the new address bar when you type something in, and the default theme that makes it look like IE's crap. There is an extension to change the address bar back, and the RC1 theme looks better than beta, plus all the custom themes. Much faster than FF2, I usually leave it open w/ multiple tabs 24/7, no need to restart because of memory issues.

I use IE as well because FF opens so damn slowly on any computer I use. Sometimes it shows it as a task running, and it never opens the damn program. Its gotten to a point where I think IE7 is a smaller program then FF, because it seems so bloated.

I have had the same experience on a couple different computers (home, school, library) always the same thing.

I use SeaMonkey at work, I like the tab preview by hovering the mouse over the tab [like Opera 9 does]. I also use FF2 quite a bit only thing when FF3 comes out I wonder if all my extensions will be compatible? I had some issues with beta3 so i haven't gone back to it yet.

Yet IE7 is reliable and it could be my only browser if I were so inclined especially now that it has full RSS capability built right in.
