: 70 th | | | Xbox 360 Price Cut Coming? First it was a Kmart ad, now its a Radio Shack Ad. It looks like the week of July 13th the 360 Pro system (20GB/HDMI) will be dropping to $300 to compete with the Wii. Quote: |

A Radio Shack employee recently mailed us the evidence, some scans of what they claim is an upcoming ad set to take effect on July 13 (same as the Kmart ad).
As you can see, the ad purports that we're going to be seeing the 20GB system at $299.99 in the middle of next month. Though it's far from official, the price cut's presence in two flyers would appear to make a Kmart printing mix-up quite a bit less likely. Let us know if you see more evidence.

: 78 th | | | noice! well they needed to do something to compete with the Wii's pricing. Although I don't subscribe to the thought that Wii's are stealing sales from people on the fence, I feel that it only makes the Xbox more appealing for console newbies trying to take the plunge |

| | | Awesome find Coffee.
I think people that don't normally own any console (read retirement homes and such) are big hits for the Wii Gaming System. A normal console that's main purpose is built for gamers doesn't appeal to people such as Parents and Grandparents.
I remember working at Best Buy, parents considered consoles and such for their kids. But, with the Wii, they consider it for themselves AND their kids. |

| thanks, but was Engadget.
the Wii is great for casual gaming, and obviously appeals to a completely different customer than the other 2. I think it's great to have these kinds of options, all successful.

: 70 th | | | Personally this price-competition will leave the consumers as winners. I hope in the next generation of consoles they will start out at $300 and go down. Rather than $250 and sold-out (Wii), $400 (360), $400 and chopped down (PS3) $500 and fully loaded (PS3 60)

| Yeah, but the key is, is that it also appeals to the everyday gamer, you, me, and the freaking whack jobs that don't leave their rooms. |
