Do More Than Just Game on Your Xbox 360

Quote:
Millions of homes have an Xbox 360 sitting in the living room, but if you're only using your 360 to game, you're missing out. With some free tools and a little elbow grease, that compact, networked PC sitting under your television can offer a whole lot of useful media functionality. The fact is, your 360 is capable of so much more than just gaming. Let's take a look at a few ways you can get more from your Xbox 360.

I'm a casual gamer who bought his Xbox 360 a solid two years after its release. I've built a dedicated DVR PC for my living room and am no stranger to incorporating computers with my home theater. Once I bought my 360, however, I've been able to get rid of my home theater PC, my DVD player, and even my cable box, so that my entire entertainment system runs through my Xbox 360. It's convergence at its best. The 360 is not perfect by any means, but it's the best multimedia device I've ever used. With that in mind, let's start souping it up.

I was just looking of ways of updating my old hardware to get more use out of it. I used to have a spare Treo 700p laying around, but I think a friend took it. I have a spare 650 around, that I think I am going to mess with since it is basically just a palm at this point.

I almost hacked up my X360 to do some cool stuff like this but decided to just sell it. I imagine we'll see some nice additions to what the PS3 and the X360 can do in the coming months/years.

for $299, the 360 is probably the best media extender on the market, plus can do gaming.

kind of like how PS3 is the best blu-ray player, plus gaming.

I don't know I'm on my second 360 and the way that thing crashes or having disk errors(and I'm sure someone is going to say "I never have any of those problems with it what are you talking about?")
hell I'm afraid to leave the thing on for more then 30 mins let alone watch movies on it.

not that I'm bitter about it or anything.

I'm on my 3rd.

I don't use it much at home, unless I have some friends over, because my pc is much more fun for gaming. At school though, thing gets used almost everyday with people coming in and playing guitar hero or something.
