just searched straferight and got 47799 results but it only showed 2 pages worth. i dont get it

you have to use the search function to get all results using that URL.

maybe they're curtailing URL's to a few pages unless you set it in preferences.

Bah, I find it too damn annoying to use and the links they go to never match anything in the description. They need to redo some of the UI on the webpage results. I like the few options you are able to choose such as the safe search and the suggestions. I wish that it just didn't hurt my eyes so much to look at. I also love that you don't have to scroll down or up to change the search of page number.

I'll give it a chance. Picture search is lacking, and I dislike when wikipedia comes back as first return, although that seems unavoidable these days.

I think it's awful. Tried using it on simple stuff and its totally bogus.

You know, even though I don't use it much anymore, AltaVista is still a decent search engine

I like Live Search and Ask.com as alternate search engines. Both have advantages.

Live's video search is fantastic, previews the video in thumbnail on mouse hover. salma hayek - Live Search Video

I like Ask because it has a good layout with information panes of different areas (news/gallery/images) all on one page.
