CrunchGear Gets Hands-On With The HTC Hero

For those of you waiting for another Android phone besides the G1 to plunk your cash (and years of service) into, have a look at the HTC Hero that CrunchGear is finally getting a look at.

The HTC Hero just landed at my humble office/abode and I’m pleased to report that it is, in fact, all that and a packet of crisps. The phone is slim and sexy with a great UI - one of the best I’ve seen on a smartphone since the phone that starts with ‘i’ and ends with Phone - and it’s quite snappy, a huge improvement over my experience with the G1.

I'm a self-admitted iPhone disciple, but this phone really looks nice. Were I ever to jump the iShip, this is the very first device I would look at (that is until Palm's WebOS finds its way onto a decent device).

The Hero looks wtfpwn. If only it wasn't stuck on T-Mo. I'll have to wait and see what the "Lancaster" will be like (although that is a slider w/physical keyboard rather than a touchscreen only).
