michelle still has the best suggestion. take her out and have her choose one that she likes, or peaks her interest. its really the only sure fire way.

sorry if it's been said before...

some of the longer adventure-style games like American McGee's Alice are great, women who aren't into shooters can get into the puzzle solving, thought-provoking style games.

my sister loved that game, even though it frustrated her.

Well, my gf loved playing Animal Crossing on my 'cube, so I introduced her to the Sims. Probably not such a great idea, since I can't stop her playing it.

To each their own though.

You know, I hate to pidgeonhole women and say what a woman would like or whatever. My ex-girlfriend played nothing but Unreal Tournament 2K4, FarCry, RainBow Six and Swat, so it would depend on the woman!! Not all women are into rpgs and powder fluff games.

Broken Sword 3: The Sleeping Dragon.

Great adventure title, with enough great dialoge, humor, and a few action moments, to entertain anyone who wants a smart PC game, that makes you also use your brain. Personal favorite of mine, and I always recommend it highly to female gamers, as it's a game that doesn't go down the path of "Helpless girl in danger" stichk, that too many games follow.

I'd also recommend Unreal Tournament 2k4, as anyone can play, and learn to frag with the best, Diablo II, as it is easy to get into, but insanely hard to stop playing, and Neverwinter Nights, as like Diablo, it's easy to get into, and alot of fun to play.

Though really, girl gamers don't exsist, as a gamer, is just that. Don't be swayed by the "girls play games" or "Doom III isn't for a girl" crap talk I've heard many times in stores, when a woman asks about a game. Buy a game that you think looks kickass, and enjoy it.
