Imagine Any Game with Thousands of People In Game At The Same Time

Ever want to play a FPS online with thousands of other players? Well now it's a possibility with Microsoft's new "DonnyBrook" system.

I don't know how to make the video directly in the post instead of just posting a link.

What do you guys think? Can this work correctly, or will it be bug city?

that's the longest that nerd has ever talked to any girl. Even if she could kick his ass.

the heuristics sounds doable, but it means all the people in the background are basically being faked until you focus on them.

sounds possible, but the server power would still seem to have to be ridonkulous.

Yea, that's what I was thinking as well. Like if you wanted to rent a 300 person CS server how much would something like that cost? An arm and a leg, thats what. But one thing that can be kinda argued on the server power side is that by the time they have this thing completed bug free the server CPU's (at the rate they are going) will be so damn powerful, so who knows what the CPU usage percent would be. you'll still get choppies in the background.

for instance if dude is running along for 30 feet, the pseudo-bot that fakes him is going to keep running that way, and when the real player suddenly changes direction, you won't see that change until the bot gets the intermittent update - and either it's going to have to do a major jump, or it's going to blip back the other way.

still sounds interesting.

//although 10,000 Bob's cursing on one server would be distracting

Source can't do it - it's still going to drop depending on how many players and events are on your screen.

That's kinda the whole point.

I know for a fact that this well known hacker group created two 255 person CS 1.6 servers that people play on.

Here are a couple IP's for 255 1.6 servers:

61.146.40.187:27016 255 person

59.149.34.250:27015 255 person

The list goes on.

They do have those 64 person CS:Source servers.

Heres one:

67.159.202.178:27015 63 person

I believe they did that, what I don't believe is that it's playable with more than 20 people on your screen.
