window games

hey how do you "window" games, if someone can give me the regedit code and or another way to open games in a windowed screen let me know thanks

I would think many have an option for that in the config. Meaning also in the config files. (quake3: r_fullscreen 0)

I think ALT+ENTER also does it but I am not sure.

Playing windowed is not my favorite thing to do anyway :)

i LOVE to play windowed. and it usually depends on the game. But typically typing -win in the target line usually does it. Worked for CS, Max Payne, Homeworld2 demo, and I'm gonna try it on BF and see if that works too.

well i want to window so i can pull the window over to my lcd, then maximize it, ill test it now to see if i can get it to work...

edit: cant get it to work - the target is:

"C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Apps\SimCity 4.exe"

well it just displays the game in a window. you can't control the size and orientation of the window because it will only display in that fixed pixel. For example my native resolution is 1280 x 1024 but when I run Counter-strike I have the resolution of the game windowed at 1024 x 768. If I wanted to make it bigger I'd have to reset the game's resolution. The game will only display in the resolutions it has.

And this only works for some games.
and this only works for some video cards.

type -win in that target line. Then go to Sim City's preferences/options and make the resolution of the game lower than your Desktop's resolution. I think it should work for Sim City.
