Audio Problem

So I just got my new laptop, and the only problem I'm having, is with my headphones. I've got the Sennheiser 555's, and I can't get sound to play through 2 channels, I hear everything through both at the same time. (it worked fine on my desktop)

I tried using my crappy ipod headphones, and they worked fine.

any ideas?

This is unlikely, but does your laptop have a single mono speaker?

My old laptop had options in the control panel to select special modes depending on what you were using. ie. Laptop Speakers, Desktop Speakers, Stereo Headphones, etc.

EDIT: Missed the part about the ipod headphones, sorry, that kinda voids my suggestion.

I'm running vista 64bit if that helps...
