| | | New Build So my parents agreed to get me a new comp but under certain conditions of course... Well anyway I wanted to get some advice or any opinions about the layout I have below. My goal is to have this rig last at least through 3 more years of high school (gonna work a lot harder to make sure I actually deserve this) and I don't want it to be toooo expensive. I'm going to continue using my Apevia X-Infinity and my old drives and HD's so all of that is set. Not exactly sure when I can start ordering things probably 2-3 weeks, but I just wanted to run this by all you great sR guys since I'm not too good with this and the majority of you are . CPU Motherboard RAM Video Card Power Supply

It's from Newegg, it's 512 instead of 256 and has MIR and a coupon if you go to the slickdeals thread. |

| | | Oh I may reconsider then. I made an Intel layout (Q6600) also and it turned out to be like $5 cheaper lol just changing the CPU and Mobo and leaving everything else the same. It's just that my cousins all use AMD and some of my friends do also so I thought it'd be ok. I don't need to do anything too hardcore like Crysis but yeah I know some game I really want will come out later but I don't know I'll probably think this over again.

| | | I understand your pain. As a family (aka dad, myself) who buys/builds computers we have had about 8 AMD systems since the early/mid 90's and NO intel systems, but if i had the money to build myself a new desktop right now, i would shamefully go with a Core2, but then love my benchmarks after the build :P
just to put in my 2 cents haha
