gah.....tried the diff iinstaller files from aim.com, but my specific build, maemo OS2008 isnt listed, and doesnt know what to do with the .ttgz files, or the other installers
See if you have some kind of package manager already on your system that you can use to install those.
After that, I suggest learning how to use Linux in the first place, then things like this in the future will be much easier to work with. If you can't find any package at all, you may just have to compile it manually. There should be some decent instructions somewhere, but you need to make sure you're familiar and comfortable with the terminal.
Yeah I mean I should have used a multi client program like pigdin to begin with, but I was curious if there was an aim package that would/should work for maemo...
Ill find out which package managers I do have installed
If your adventurous you could try the debian pkg. since maemo is based on Debian. But I don't know if will work or even Brick your unit . This is on a Nokia ?
I can run those commands thru the x console thing, Im not sure whether the aim for debian 2.1 or 3+ is what I want, do u know which maemo is based off of?
Debian is on 4.0 so I'd guess 3+
found this while looking around maemo Pidgin (that Dope mentioned above) for OS2008 maemo.org - Downloads: Pidgin On Maemo
