 : 69 th | | | Windows ICS help So I'm trying to share my internet between my laptop and pc, because I dont want to run a 50fr cable down my staircase.
This is how I need it to work:
Modem->wireless router->laptop->pc
The laptop is picking up internet wireless, and I have a crossover cable between my laptop and pc. I had it working earliere today, but I restarted my pc and it didnt work after that. Now, if I disable my windows firewall on my laptop, the shit works fine. I know for a fact that earlier it was working with windows firewall in place. I don't want to run without the firewall, so what can I do?
Is there a setting somewhere to do this or what? Google has failed me.

| | | I just set mine up for the same thing, it was working until about an hour ago when the lame ass nvidia stuff I installed fucked over my system...
Anyway, under the firewall exceptions there should be a checkbox or two for "file and printer sharing", make sure theyre checked. If that doesnt work, try the network setup wizard again, maybe itll put the settings back in place

| | | Free is nice, but to use your tower, you have to have your notebook up, running, and tethered? Not a good long term solution.

| | | i grabbed a usb wireless stick for my HTPC, works great. Yeah, it cost 30 bucks, but I can use it on any desktop, when I'm fixing other PCs, and take it with me.

| | | Bridge your wireless and wired nics on the laptop. That should do the trick with minimal config...
