: 63 rd | | | Lappy Help. My dad is in the market for a new lappy, he was looking at either a sony or dell, and i wasent sure, my gut was thinking sony would be better, but he didnt like the price of the upper end vaios. He wants to spend between 400-600 maybe 700, and other brands are fine, just make sure there fairly "popular", he dosent like buying off brand things.
Got any ideas???

: 78 th | | | well, you're going to get more PC for you $ with a Dell most likely. But as a long time Sony Vaio owner, I will say it has been bullet proof for 5 years now and is going strong. Your mileage my vary though. Either way, they're both good companies that will cover his needs appropriately. |

| | | Just take a look at the HPs. I've had great luck with them for the last 7 years.

| | | From what I've seen HP's pricing is excellent. The new 15.4 inch models start at about $600, and even the base package is quite nice.
