New TV/Monitor for basso!

So, before I go back to school I'm going to be buying a new tv to be used for my pc, 360, and cable tv. I'm tired of my old zenith crt taking up half my desk. My budget is $500 max, so I'm generally looking at 22". Any recommendations from the straferight crew? Here are a few contenders I guess.

Westinghouse - 26" 720p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV - SK-26H730S

that one looks sweet but i cant find any reviews, and the ones on BB suck but those people are usually idiots.

InsigniaŽ - 22" Class 720p Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD HDTV - NS-LCD22-09

LG - 22" 720p Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD HDTV - 22LG30

Samsung - 22" 720p Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD HDTV - LN22A450

Walmart.com: Vizio 22" Class HD LCD Television: TVs

Buy the Element 26" LCD HDTV and other LCD & Plasma TVs at circuitcity.com

^^ or the 22" version of that, its under 400.

I want something that will last more than a year, but I'm not THAT picky when it comes to perfect image quality and stuff, I dont make the kind of money to be like that.

I would stay away from AOC/Envision, they just aren't that great.

I have this monitor (Insignia 26" LCD) and if you look online you can find 10/12% off coupons so that you can get the LCD and a 4 year warranty for less than $500.

Overall the quality is excellent, IIRC some people over at the AVS forum said that the panel is actually made by LG. I got the 4 year warranty because I wanted the guarentee that if it has any dead pixels or misc problems down the road (i.e. HDMI port or something dies) I can just bring it back and probably get a better unit.

InsigniaŽ - 26" 720p Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD HDTV - NS-LCD26-09

I really want to get my hands on both of these heh.

Amazon.com: Samsung Touch Of Color T220HD 22" LCD HDTV Monitor: Electronics

Theres a regular computer monitor version of the T220 also which is 2ms GTG. The T220HD is 5ms GTG w/ hdtv tuner and stuff. both monitors are able to produce HD though.

Amazon.com: Samsung Touch Of Color T220 22" LCD Monitor: Electronics

As for this 32A650 I think the only thing it lacks is the 120Hz but it's also 4ms thou too so.

Amazon.com: Samsung LN32A650 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with RED Touch of Color: Audio & Video

Now.. I've heard many stories about samsung nolonger using 3rd party panels.. so maybe these newer Touch of Color monitors/hdtv's are good.. personally I don't know yet.. but If I had some extra cash on hand I'd get one if not both heh.

Atm I'm stuck with a samsung 2653H heh.

Don't forget Dwall ... he has a 32" Westinghouse as well

Basso, If you have a video card that can handle the higher res ie. 1080p instead of 1080i or 720p I would go for it. I think the 1920 x 1080 resolution has a huge impact when it comes to image quality and overall graphical immersion within a game. IMO

Good luck man .... Happy shopping

Save some green

Newegg.com - SAMSUNG ToC T220HD Rose Black 22" 5ms HDMI Widescreen HDTV Monitor 300 cd/m2 DC 10000:1 Built in DTV Tuner & Dolby Digital Surround Speakers - LCD Monitors

Also the 22 you linked to at bestbuy is 50 bucks less on the egg, and free shipping (720p samsung).... but the Touch of Color Edition is capable of 1080p and has got your DVI if you prefer having one.

@ hunt, that 25.5 is hot I wish I had the desk space for that but since I use my tv and monitors separate I dont really. You just hook that beast up thru dvi->hdmi?
