If you work retail (which I technically don't, I'm a tech at Intrex) you can sign up, do tests for points and then qualify for the "Big Deal"

They do it every year, I've gotten processor + board + xp bundles for like $200 before. If you work at like BB, CC, Staples, or Office Depot it's soo worth signing up for.

AMD is going to have some better offerings toward the end of the year. From what I understand, they have improved IPC (this is the chief architecture advantage Intel has had over AMD since C2 came out) - if they have done from a 3 instruction wide model to 4 wide (which is what Intel has), they will be comparable. If it's not a true 4, it will still suck - but what I'd like to see is a better matching of performance so things like this come way down in price. If I had my druthers, I'd have this particular chip right now
