| | | Mouse help. So I picked up a Deathadder today since I finally had some spending cash, and so far it isn't what I expected it to be. I've heard many people praise the Razer brands for having such great mice, but 5 minutes after opening and installing the damn thing it's already giving me trouble? I'd say every 3 or 4 minutes the mouse just bugs out, throwing the pointer some random direction, or sometimes twitching all over the screen.
Keep in mind that I've messed around with the dpi, polling, and sensitivity as much as I could stand, and this shit just keeps bugging out on me. Any help?

| | | Firmware and driver updates may fix it if you didnt try it already. When my copperhead's programs started to fook up I just installed the old drivers and it was back to normal.

| | | Sounds like just a plain bad mouse, I have gotten one of those, out of the few deathadders I have bought.
Its not like the mouse is some Godsend, and I really dont like razer's other mice, but immediately the things I liked about it were the cup shape of the mouse buttons, the very light weight, and the skinny cord, nothin pisses me off more than a heavy cord hanging off the desk that resists mouse movement.
Might as well do the firmware brak said, and if it doesnt work, update the firmware then yank the mouse out when its halfway thru, take it back to where you bought it and say its doa. It will be.

| | | try a different pad/surface...I've had this same problem before (can't remember if it was a logitech or razer though), and different pads/desk surfaces helped greatly, but I think in the end I had to replace the mouse...

| Specifically, what happens? Are you using a deathadder too?

| I thought it might have something to do with that too...I'm using that crappy, quasi-shiny dell mousepad that I stole from Hunter (shhhh!), but I don't have another pad around yet to see if that's the case. I'm gna try the driver stuff in a sec, and if it still gives me shit tomorrow I'll just stroll by BestBuy and switch it out.

| +1
Some mice (epically higher-end) have issues with some mousing surfaces...

| | | Just try it on your desk should work pretty well, if its erratic as hell its a bad sensor or something.
Only sureface I found my deathadder wouldnt work on was this mousepad Id never heard of before a lan center gave me, its like teflon coated black mousepad, the deathadder didnt like the surface one bit

| | | Maybe that was why it was sold as an open box? Someone else returned it for that problem?
